Sound Audio Tours produces free, self-guided audio experiences launching spring 2026, designed to guide visitors through the history, culture, and hidden stories of cities across Puget Sound.

Every listener is curious, engaged, and looking for authentic local experiences. Sponsoring a stop on any of our tours puts your business directly in front of that audience with a warm, personal introduction woven into a story they're already listening to.

Introductory rate! The first five sponsors to support the tour will receive 30% off of their total order.

What’s included?

Each sponsored tour stop includes two advertising placements:

1. Audio Mention (up to 20 seconds) A personal, conversational thank-you at the opening of the stop such as:

"Special thanks to Bay Hay & Feed for sponsoring this stop on our tour. Visit their shop in Rolling Bay to pick up one of their signature shirts or hoodies to bring home a true Bainbridge Island keepsake. Located at 10355 NE Valley Rd."

Your message can be updated monthly to reflect current specials, seasonal offerings, or events. Just send updated copy by the 15th of the preceding month.

2. Graphic Ad on the Tour Transcript Page A visual ad (500px wide × 200px tall) displayed prominently near the top of that stop's written transcript. You can provide your own artwork, or we can help you design something that fits. That ad also acts as a clickable link to your chosen landing page.

Tour stop sponsorships are priced per stop, per month. Each stop on the tour is available to one sponsor at a time and once a stop is claimed, it's exclusively yours for the duration of your commitment. The longer you commit, the more you save. Peak season runs April through October, when tourism is at its highest. Off-peak rates run November through March for sponsors who want year-round presence at a significantly reduced cost.

Premium Stops

The first stops on some tours are considered “Premium Stops” as they are likely to receive the highest amount of listeners as visitors are likely to branch off into different directions as they explore. Therefor, these stops have adjusted pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each stop on the tour is available to one sponsor at a time. When you claim a stop, you're the exclusive sponsor for that stop for the duration of your commitment. Your sponsorship includes a personal audio mention at the opening of the stop and a graphic ad displayed prominently on the stop's transcript page. No other advertiser will appear on your stop while you're active. Please note that other businesses, sometimes similar, may be mentioned as part of the tour itself.

  • Sponsorships begin on the first of the month and run through the last day of the month. We'll confirm your exact start date when you sign up.

  • For your audio mention, send us your preferred copy of up to 20 seconds when read aloud, which is roughly 50–60 words. For your graphic ad, send a 500px wide × 200px tall image file in JPG format. Both text and graphics can be submitted by email once your sponsorship is confirmed. All text and graphics will be reviewed and must be approved before publication.

  • Yes. You can refresh your audio copy and graphic ad as often as once per month to reflect current specials, seasonal offerings, or events. Updated content must be submitted by the 15th of the preceding month to go live on the 1st.

  • The most effective sponsorships feel like a natural part of the tour and are a warm, local recommendation rather than a traditional advertisement. A few things that work well:

    • Be specific. "Stop in for a tasting flight and mention the audio tour" outperforms "visit us today."

    • Give people a reason to act now. A seasonal special, a limited offer, or a simple perk ("show this page for 10% off") creates urgency.

    • Keep it conversational. Listeners are walking and exploring so a friendly tone lands better than a formal pitch.

    • Include a clear call to action. Tell people exactly what to do next: visit your website, stop by the shop, make a reservation, ask for someone by name.

  • Absolutely. Sponsors covering two or more stops receive a 10% discount on the total, and five or more stops receive 15% off.

  • The tour is a living project so stops may be added, adjusted, or refined over time as the tour develops. If a significant change affects your sponsored stop, we'll notify you in advance and work with you to find the best solution, including the option to move to a different stop or adjust your commitment.

  • Sponsorships that span both peak and off-peak seasons are available at a custom pro-rated rate. Just mention your preferred start date when you reach out.

  • Month-to-month sponsors have the option to set up auto-renewal so your stop stays claimed without any action needed on your end. Just let us know when you sign up. Cancel anytime with 15 days written notice. Sponsors on multi-month commitments will receive a personal renewal reminder before their term ends.

  • We track listener stats for every stop on the tour, including play counts and ad clicks from transcript pages. Sponsors can request a performance report at any time. Just reach out and we'll put one together for you. We're committed to transparency and want your sponsorship to work as hard as possible for your business.

  • A limited number of graphic-only placements (transcript page ad, no audio mention) are available each month for qualifying nonprofits at no cost, on a space-available basis.

    Nonprofit placements are offered after the 15th of the preceding month for any stops that remain unsold.

    To inquire, reach out at least two weeks before the month you're interested in. Please note that nonprofit placements do not include audio mentions and are subject to availability.
